Laughing at Life: End of 2009

A few of you may recall many moons ago, when I used to provide a Monday morning giggle called Laughing at Life. I would entertain my fabulous readers with the torturous stories of just how dumb the general public was. My source: Callers that I dealt with during my stint as a customer service rep in the billing department of a cable company.

Well as 2009 comes to a close and we are down to the LAST Monday of the year, I felt the longing need to close the year with a final Laughing at Life for 2009. So please enjoy this last Laughing at Life of 2009 provided by the sick humor of Pink Haired Momma.

Enjoy and put a towel under your butt because you are gonna piss yourself!!!

Paid for Not Showing Up
Anthony Armatys is facing up to six years in prison for his dumb move. But he's not the only dummy in this story. Armatys accepted a job in 2002 with telecom equipment maker Avaya but then changed his mind before he started. He was already in the payroll system however, and the company started depositing his six-figure salary into his checking account.
For five years, Armatys did not notify Avaya of its error, but his attempt to make an early withdrawal from his 401(k) prompted an investigation that led to his arrest.
In October Armatys pleaded guilty to theft and was ordered to repay the $470,995.53 in compensation he received. He faces full sentencing in January. Source

Laughing at Life

I have a secret talent. a talent like no other. This little talent reared itself in the early college days of tequila shots and Vodka IV's. Last week at my bridal shower, my dear friends gave me a beautiful toast about our friendship and our history together. It was wonderful. And it was followed by a request that I perform the talent that has graced many a parties, many a stories, many a laughs over the last 16 years. Today I am lucky enough to share this moment with you, as my soon to be sister in law caught this wondrous moment on tape! ENJOY! and yes I did win an award in college for this talent!!!

I now present you with the...
CHICKEN

And if you take notice, you will see I did in fact take tequila shots before this talent took place, for old time sake!!

Laughing at Life

Halloween is coming! Yippee! That also means my wedding. Lucky for Baby DIVA, this year she will be wearing the above lovely little dress for the event. Next year she may not be so lucky. She might just find herself out an about in a costume like this:

Or this...

Hahahaha! Yes I would do that to my kiddo, but only when she is really little and doesnt know any better! LOL If you are interested in learning more about these hysterical ideas have a little click HERE and head over to Martha Stewart for the How to's! If I see a baby lobster I will so be rolling on the floor!

Now this little goodie is quite appropriate, but I will admit I wore this exact costume not 5 years ago to a fabulous Halloween Party!

Laughing at life

Imagine yourself grocery shopping. All of a sudden your feel some rumbling in the tummy area and you KNOW it ain't gonna wait. Off you scoot to the grocery store bathroom. Everything is going smooth, when out of no where SOME spawn decides to enter the restroom. You quietly just continue to mind your own business in your own stall and wait patiently for the spawn to vacate. Spawn then flushes and heads to wash the hands. Spawn must have sang the happy birthday song in their head 3 or 4 times to time their cleaning procedures, because it is FOREVER before the spawn vacates the restroom completely. FINALLY, spawn is gone and you being vacate procedures of your own. Before you can leave the stall Spawn returns. Spawn begins to spray the restroom with a powerful air freshening device.

Now from inside your private stall you are humiliated and confused. Did Spawn just steal air freshener?

True story my friends! Go ahead laugh and pee in your pants on this fabulous Monday morning!!

Laughing at life

I found this on a great Blog I love Ramblings of a Redneck Woman. Great Blog! This little funny joke made me pee my pants.
So Happy Monday! Pee your pants!!

A pastor’s wife was expecting a baby, so he stood before the congregation and asked for a raise. After much discussion, they passed a rule that whenever the preacher’s family expanded, so would his paycheck.
After 6 children, this started to get expensive and the congregation decided to hold another meeting to discuss the preacher’s expanding salary. A great deal of yelling and inner bickering ensued, as to how much the clergyman’s additional children were costing the church, and how much more it could potentially cost.
After listening to them for about an hour, the pastor rose from his chair and spoke, ‘Children are a gift from God, and we will take as many gifts as He gives us. Silence fell on the congregation.
In the back pew, a little old lady struggled to stand, and finally said in her frail voice, ‘Rain is also a gift from God, but when we get too much of it, we wear rubbers.’
The entire congregation said, ‘Amen.’

Laughing at Life

Seriously, I am in constant awe at some of the crap that rolls of my customers mouths on a daily basis. My little story to jump start your week is, of course, straight from my adventures in the customer service world. This week I received a call from a very upset gentleman. As I started the call it was all I could do to get past the incredible bellows of disgust coming through the line and resting in my ear, from the angered soul on the opposite end of the line. It was very clear this was not going to go well. Finally after some soothing and Pink Haired Momma tone voice cues, I was able to soothe the gentleman to a dull roar and begin to figure out how it was I was going to be his hero.

He begins to spat about how he was so mad at all the "ads". He needed the "ads" resolved. Quickly I realized (because I am super smart and can interpret angered evil call language now with the quickness) he was referring to the "commercials" in between programs. My caller was so mad that commercial interrupted his TV show. I began to give him a lesson in the art of TV programming and how commercials help to pay the network and Blah Blah Blah.

Customer then requests that I please schedule a technician to come to his home to adjust his box so that he never has to see another commercial again.

Seriously, I am not kidding!

Keeping a straight face I brush my Pink Hair away from my face and prepare to let the customer know that this will not be a possible end to his circumstances.

Before I can open my mouth, customer breaks off into his own plan of how the networks should run commercials. He informs me that he sleeps from 11pm to 4am on a daily basis and that all commercials should run at this time and only this time because he is asleep and will not have to view them during this time. He goes on for a few minutes and explains his plan to be in more intricate detail. I listen and oooh and ahhh for a moment in order to build "rapport" with my customer.

Once the "Rapport" is established I then explain to him that the technicians I have available will not be able to assist him in the way he wants. However I have pulled up the network direct line and he can call and file his complaint/plan of improvement to them.

He was so excited and so grateful...I actually became his little hero!! Woohoo me. And I am so sorry to the poor soul who takes his call over at the network!!!

Laughing at life

Everyone needs to laugh to keep the soul pure and happy. I am making it my mission to bring a little laughter into everyone lives one day at a time! I found that many people need a good belly laugh to start their week off. So every Monday I post a little something here to give the ole belly a good shake!

Mostly these little stories are from my adventures in the customer service industry. Every day I am shocked and rattled to the core by the audacity the general public has when they are speaking to the customer service representatives set in place to "assist and help" them. The anonymity presented when the caller has the telephone as a safeguard, allow such callers to lose the basic skills ingrained in the human known as common decency. And I, the Pink Haired Momma, relish each stupid moment, take note, laugh hysterically at the stupidity, and then share these beloved encounters with you!!!

This week I have a little story about a nice gentleman who wrung my line. He was very upset when he finally reached me. His cable just was not doing what he wanted. I begin asking him the usual probing questions that I ask when such a call is received by my ears; "Is your television turned on, Sir?", "Is the television plugged in". You know the simple questions used in relation to fun fest of screams I usually receive when a caller invokes the words “MY CABLE ISN'T WORKING!"

He assured me all these probing requests were checked and were NOT the problem. I then begin probing further. "Sir, what exactly is going on with your cable? Can you describe to me what you see on the television screen?"

The matured gentleman begins to get further into his frustration and begins shouting at me that the wrong channel is coming through. I then ask him "Well, Sir what channel is it that you are looking for. I amsure I can help you find whatever program and channel you are looking for." (quickly and unannounced in the background of this conversation I am diligently pulling up the channel line-up on my computer screen for his area so that I may look like a hero momentarily when he tells me what channel he needs and I can blurt it out to him instantly).

No Hero here! It turns out that no matter how bad I wanted to be his hero it just was not going to happen.
See what happens next...

Lots of angry frustrating screams bellow towards my direction. Some indecipherable mutters followed by "I am in room 505 and I want this channel changed".

"Oh, Sir, Where are you?" It was at that moment I realized my customer was at the hospital. I asked the gentleman if his nurse was around and could I please speak with her as she could help us get his television fixed. Oh Lordy this sent the mature gentleman into full out hysterics.
"I don't want that crazy woman coming in here to help me!! All she does is stick needles in me". "I JUST WANT MY CHANNEL CHANGED!"

Well this went on for a few minutes. I had to explain to the gentleman that I was unable to help him and that we really needed to get his nurse in the room to get him some assistance. After about 5 minutes he finally gave up, yelled at me some more, told me he hated me and my cable company and then hung up. Typical!

You can probably imagine at this point this Pink Haired Momma is trying to control the laughter that is about the explode from inside me. This poor gentleman is laid up in the hospital, can’t find his remote to change his TV channel, won't call the nurse but calls my employer, the cable help line! People really do make me laugh!

Wowsers!!!!

Laughing at Life

Here is a true story for you to giggle at...

As you know I work from home in the customer service industry for a cable provider. Well just the other night I received a call from a gentleman that was very upset about some movie purchases he had on his bill this month. It appears the young lad and his leading lady purchased some very Innocent entertainment and watched about $50 worth of movies. Well by the time the bill came the leading lady was no longer the young mans leading lady. He now feels he should not have to pay for these films because "she" chose them and she is not his girl anymore.

Seriously!?!

And for your further customer service laughing pleasure on this fine Monday morning here is a great website

Laughing at Life

Parenting is one of the hardest careers on this planet. Sometimes parents just need a little "light" moment. What better way to start out on Monday than to take 5 minutes and laugh. It really helps set the tone for the week that follows.

My Hubbs-to-be and myself always try to find humor in our daily lives. This really provides us with a sound relationship to approach even the darkest of days with. After many years of practice we can find humor in just about anything. However when we first started "laughing at life" we needed help. I have provided a website that my Hubbs-to-be found and we really find it funny. Click below and go play on this site, it that can help YOU laugh and give you a moment to remember that life is wonderful and hilarious!!!

This is a general pessimistic outlook on life but is incredibly funny...and a lot of it true.

This should help you take your every day life and find a great new hysterical approach to it!!

A cute little example here from my life is:

Because the baby DIVA has a mind of her own and sleeps when SHE wants not when I want, I hardly ever sleep. Not a big deal. I am learning all kinds of new skills. Like how to operate heavy machinery such as cars and lawnmowers without any sleep....

Watch out for the Crazy pink haired mom on the loose!!
