Time out for Mom

Time out for Theta Mom Thursday is upon us! Hallelujah! If you are familiar with what is going on then you better share your time out moment pronto!! If you are not familiar with what is going on then i suggest you hurry your little tush on over to theta moms and get in on the madness. The madness of moms having 1 hour of alone time a month! Oh my gosh! *Gasp* Moms need down time too!

This month, despite Baby DIVA having Fevers , Hand, Foot and Mouth and a cranky attitude, I was able to slip out and have a Moms Night Out with my fabulous friends from HAM . We attended an Adults only session of pottery making at Ceramics by Tess, and it was a divine night out! Full of fun, laughter and NO KIDS!!!

I also have put into practice taking 20- 30 minutes to myself 4 days a week. This time is usually found while Baby DIVA naps, however it is still "alone" time. I utilize this time to improve my physical and mental body. I participate in yoga, belly dancing, stretching, and/or reading my my current book for a full 1/2 hour. The reality that my body is not a perfectly limber piece of elastic that can bend and mold and twist exactly like it could when I was 20 is not my favorite part of the day. Attempting a yoga pose and finding a post baby boob or belly roll in the way that inhibits full movement is always good for a heavy laugh though, and helps me stay motivated.

This "time out" is not only a gift to myself but a gift to Baby DIVA. By forcing myself to implement and exercise regimen for the mind and body, I am setting the stage for Baby DIVA to experience, learn and develop her own standards and goals in the fitness of the mind and body from early on. I am contributing to her well being by aiming to make my person healthier, and that my friends is the greatest motivation ever.

So that is it! My Theta Mom time outs for the month of April. Simple. Fun. Energizing. Wonderful. I couldn't ask for anything more than time with friends and family!

Time out Thursday

It has been a few weeks since I have actively participated in my favorite Thursday blog event. The holidays have kept me hopping. But I found the way back to my happy place, my computer, and I am here to tell you all about My Thursday Time out for Mom.

As always, if you are new to my blog and have no idea what I am speaking of, then you need to scurry that little tush of yours over to Theta Mom, and have a little looksee about what all the fuss is about. You see, Theta Mom has made a pledge to the blogging world and this pledge has spread like wild fire throughout the world of motherhood.
Moms must take 1 hour per week, and yes that says 1 hour per week, to themselves. No Hubbs, no kids, No dirty dishes, no laundry. 1 hour of time that is devoted to just mom. 1 hour to do something alone and for mom, in hopes that mom can continue to keep her sanity and all the other moms out there wont have to hear about her on the evening news doing something stupid. So Theta Mom is our Queen Bee in this endeavor. She brought forth this pledge and makes sure we all keep our pledge to the cause. She has up report in on Thursday, link up and share our fabulous stories of how we so selfishly took 1 hour during a 7 day period to our self!

So here is what I did this week for my mom time...

I went on a job interview. Woohoo! Fabulous time out right? Well I was alone. No hubbs, No Baby DIVA, no dirty dishes, there was a bit of trash on the floorboard or my car because I am a car slob but i didn't clean it, so it doesn't count. The time alone was spent for me, so it counts right?

Well I applied for the job last Thursday evening. It was a work from home position deemed Data Mining. In layman's terms ( I learned later) this is basically reviewing medical records and "mining" specific information and then compiling it into database format for litigation attorney's. Right up my alley. So you can imagine how thrilled I was when at 730am on Friday morning I got the call for an interview! FABULOUS. Interview was set for Monday. Grandma was scheduled to watch Baby DIVA, I got myself dressed in real clothes and even brushed my teeth. And off I went to my (time out) interview.

The interview went superb. I was tickled. However, they will not be making any decisions until after the first of the year. BLAH!!! Either that is a nice blow off or I will be excited again come January. Time will tell.

So that is how I spent my time out. It was lovely. I jammed out to music in the car that I wanted to listen to. I drove slow and enjoyed my time alone and worked at making myself a better person by gaining more experience from interviewing. More knowledge to pass on to Baby DIVA some day!

So what did you do with your Mommy Time Out?

Time out for Mom

IT IS THURSDAY!!!! THETA MOM TIME OUT TIME!!

AND THAT IS NOT ALL...

I AM EITHER ON MY WAY OR ALREADY IN LAS VEGAS FOR MY WEDDING, depending on when you read this of course. And yes I cheated and set this to post Thursday, when really in fact I am writing in on Wednesday. So sue me!

I followed my orders from the fabulous Theta Mom and snagged some time to myself! I know incredibly hard to believe that this Pink Haired Momma Bridezilla actually got a few moments alone the week of her wedding!!!! But honestly I really didnt want Theta Mom coming after me and cracking her wooden spoon to remind me that wedding, mommahood, life...none of that matters if I dont remember to take care of myself! And that is what Theta Mom really wants us moms to realize and to incorporate into our lives by taking this challenege each week and giving ourselves, as momma's, that 1 hour of time we need to keep our sanity level in check!

So what did I do? Flab shaking! Yep I took myself again to my favorite Nightclub Cardio class and boogied down. I baked 2 dozen yummy red velvet iced with vanilla and decorated with Skull cupcakes for Hubbs-to-be to take to work. Cleaned the house. Got almost packed for our Las Vegas Journey. Ordered up our best ever baby sitter who raced right over and off I went to shake my butt rolls!! Now somehow I have managed to get a little stress fracture in one of the tiny bones in my right foot, I know classic for a bride walking down the aisle in 3 days, so I just didn't bounce too much on that foot. I just pretend that it is nothing LOL! But I shook my bootie and got my rolls a swinging! I Love it!

Shake shake shake, Shake shake shake, shake that pink haired momma fat shake that pink haired momma fat!!

I hope you momma's snagged you some Theta Mom time too this week. I am not going to lie. I will not be reading your posts today because I am in LAS VEGAS about to get married!! But I do promise I will be hunting those time out posts down when I get back and will run off and tattle to Theta mom if you didn't steal some alone time for yourself! heheheeheh!!

Have a great week my friends!! And fabulous Halloween and I cant wait to share when we get back! I will be updating about the wedding via FB and twitter so stay tuned!!

Time out for mom Theta Mom Thursday

Last week I accepted the challenge set forth by Theta Mom and decided every week from here on out I would steal 1 hour of time that is devoted to just ME!! And I kept my word.

This week Hubbs-to-be watched Baby DIVA while one of my dearest friends and myself took an exercise class. Now you might be thinking WTF? Why are you working out on your one hour of freedom?!? Well this is not your ordinary exercise class. Nope! It is Night Club Cardio . That is right. My friend and I got our rolls a flapping out on the dance floor and sweated it up!

It was so much fun! I haven't had fun exercising like that since I was a size 5 and living it up in the college life style! All the other participants were about our age (early 30's) and this made the whole event quite inviting. The facility is an actual club, during non "club" hours. The lights are turned off. The DJ starts a spinning. The disco ball is a twirling and all us ladies and gents are lead through a 60 minute shake down of our flubber! Seriously, it was so much fun and such a super workout. I am incredibly excited about it. I worked out. Got some good exercise. Fabulous conversation with my friend. And a whole hour devoted to just me!

And guess what?
I am going back next week!! Alone! Hubbs-to-be and Baby DIVA have their special time while I flab shake!!

Thank you Theta Mom for starting the Time out Thursdays for us moms. Sometimes we just need someone to remind us that to be a good mother to our children we also have to take care of ourselves, and that includes our sanity!!!

Before I take off, I just want to remind you that I have my fabulous My Little Pony Giveaway going on right now. It ends next Wednesday. So click HERE and get registered today to win this fabulous giveaway!
