Fire butt

Fire butt is how it is known in our house. What is Fire Butt? Well it is when poor Baby DIVA has an incredible diaper rash that is so intense it causes her to scream out in pain and the forces momma and daddy into guilt mode because we can not "fix" it. We have discussed the issue numerous times with our pediatrician. Baby Diva has had a multitude of creams slathered on her ass, powder dusted on her tush and nothing. Fire Butt still prevailed. We removed apple juice, orange juice, and the like from her diet as the doctor said the acid in these juices may be bringing about an excreted substance in her stool and urine that causes her little butt to flare up like a tomato in the summer sun.

Nothing worked. We just became accustomed to a quick reaction plan whenever we noticed the redness coming on or we heard the firs butt yelps. And that is how we we live.

Recently I have taken notice to an issue that is quickly arising in the mommy news world. Pampers, our brand of choice, has been receiving some unbecoming attention in regards to their new Dry Max diapers. Many children are turning up left and right with diaper rashes that resemble a chemical like burn on their tushes.

Hmmmm...could Baby DIVA be amongst all the children suffering from this issue? I sure hope not, however if the diaper is the cause of this incurable rash, and all we have to do is switch brands and VOILA fire butt is gone?!? then Hallelujah! I can deal with some leakage of pee here and there common with other brands, if it keeps my daughters butt sparkling clean and white instead of fire engine red!

Although I do not think this is the ultimate source of our Fire Butt problem, I am not about to overlook something that possibly could resolve our problems with great ease. The next few weeks will offer us some trials and tribulations. We are going to try a different brand of diapers as well as have another deep discussion on the matter with our doctor. In the mean time please feel free to share with me your own experiences with Pampers. Have you had any trouble? And success stories? Any input at all? Pampers has been in contact with the public and has released this statement: Pampers Statement. I am not among the evil Pampers haters, I just wanted to share this information in case others too may have Fire Butt with unknown cause and might be able to solve their problem too.

More to come as our experiment continues...

Pampers Gifts to Grow

Do you use Pampers? Did you know about this Pampers Gifts to Grow program they have going? Well is sure didn't until about 6 weeks ago. Where the heck have I been???

Inside pampers products, like diapers packages and wipe boxes, (UGH I can not even imagine how many of these I have non chalantly tossed in the trash), there is a little 15 digit number that you can collect and then enter into the Pampers to Grow website. After you accumulate several of these fabulous little digits, you will find your points are racing up in number. You then scoot on over to the Gift to Grow rewards store and POOF you get free stuff.

Seriously?!? You know how I love free stuff and cheap deals, so when I learned of this (late in the game I know, BAD MOMMA) I simply had to give it a try. 6 weeks later and I am hooked. Don't think you wont see me stalking the trash cans down the street hunting for unsuspecting parents who did not cash in their own Pampers 15 digit codes! Okay so maybe not really, but it is something I already must buy so why not spend a few minutes and get some free goodies out of it!

Don't live in the dark like me! Go check it out! Pampers Gifts to Grow

Naked Baby

Baby DIVA has yet again graced me with a new found skill. I am not quite sure if I should do some jumps of joy jumping jacks in utter excitement for this skill. Although I am thrilled to add to Baby DIVA's repertoire of fabulous skills, this one just irks me.

Baby DIVA has officially developed the awareness that there is a fluffy little contraption that covers her tush, and it has these really snazzy "removable" stickers. She thinks this fluffy toy is the only toy in the world, at least in the wee hours of the day.

Yep. Naked Baby.
Baby DIVA removes her diaper at will.

Not a so proud momma when you happen to find Baby DIVA hovering over her mattress canvas. So I twirled my Pink Haired locks around my finger, got some advice from a Friend and begin to put the fluffy contraption on backwards in the most often abused "removal" time periods aka overnight.

She is my child.
She is not stupid.

She just simply reached towards her tush and pulled on her toy stickers. I can almost see the look of sarcasm and accomplishment in my mind that must have enhanced her sweet face as this discovery of reaching backwards and removing the diaper came to her developing mind.

Yep. Naked Baby.
Yep. An unscheduled load of laundry and cleaning festival ensued.
Yep. Pink Haired Momma not impressed.

I guess I should be incredibly excited that Baby DIVA has the knowledge, comprehension and dexterity to pull off such a fabulous stunt. But honestly, it just makes my eyes roll as she giggles and dances around with her naked Butt!

Lets talk Diapers

Hello there. Welcome to Pink Haired Momma's Exploding poop post!

Baby DIVA is an "on the go" kind of kid. The girl has so much energy it is exhausting just thinking about it. Her "on the go" behavior has recently brought us to a quandary about our choice of diapers. You see way back when my little Baby DIVA burst into the world, we were introduced to pampers. Mainly because that was the brand of diapers that most of our friends and family purchased for us before her grand arrival. We did have a brief stint with huggies preemie size diapers right there at the beginning, but that was short lived, as my precious Baby DIVA exploded right out of those bad boys. We quickly migrated back to Pampers. And that is where we stayed right up until a month or so ago. We were proud users of pampers cruisers, during the crawling stage. Now that we have moved on to the "climb on everything, leap frog, dangle from anything that is higher than the floor stage", we have are having some issues. It appears that those explosions from very early on have resumed their place in our life. Nice. Gross. Crap. Literally.

So I went on a mission of trying different diapers to see what might be able to contain these "explosions" during dangle sessions. I started with some Huggies. The diapers seemed to fit nice on Baby DIVA. She seemed comfortable. We had a pee and everything seemed great. Then it happened. EXPLOSION. Right out the leg holes down the legs and up the back. Isnt that nice. Clothes and baby DIVA needed an immediate dunk in bathtub. Gross. Crap. Moving on.

LUVS were purchased. Diaper number 2 proved to be an epic failure. A brief pee pee session resulted in a Niagara Falls effect upon a brand new fresh from the dryer cutesy outfit of Baby DIVA's and a fresh cleaned and dressed Pink Haired Momma. Failure. Trash. Crap. Didnt even wait to see how explosions handle this brand.

Parents choice from Wal-mart were bought in as drastic measures were being undertaken to resolve this diaper issue. This diaper is very lightweight. Fits very well. But does not house a full bladder of excretions or an EXPLOSION. Both incidents resulted in both momma and Baby DIVA needing a fresh change of clothes. Failure yet again.

So I am stuck. We are back with old faithful, Pampers. I am hoping that the "dangling" stage moves at a rapid pace and we can go back to no escaping EXPLOSIONS or leaky waterfalls. Perhaps This is just our destiny. Who knows. Please feel free to entertain my thoughts and my diaper game trials with your stories or suggestions! Is it just my kid that has the horrific explosions of mass proportion? Are there others out there going through my exact dilemma? Is this normal?
