While I was forced to lay down all day yesterday with a round of food poisoning, I happened to catch a glimpse of this commercial. And oh my goodness it tickled me so. Have a watch! Happy Hilarious Friday!

Time out for Mom

IT IS THURSDAY!!!! THETA MOM TIME OUT TIME!!

AND THAT IS NOT ALL...

I AM EITHER ON MY WAY OR ALREADY IN LAS VEGAS FOR MY WEDDING, depending on when you read this of course. And yes I cheated and set this to post Thursday, when really in fact I am writing in on Wednesday. So sue me!

I followed my orders from the fabulous Theta Mom and snagged some time to myself! I know incredibly hard to believe that this Pink Haired Momma Bridezilla actually got a few moments alone the week of her wedding!!!! But honestly I really didnt want Theta Mom coming after me and cracking her wooden spoon to remind me that wedding, mommahood, life...none of that matters if I dont remember to take care of myself! And that is what Theta Mom really wants us moms to realize and to incorporate into our lives by taking this challenege each week and giving ourselves, as momma's, that 1 hour of time we need to keep our sanity level in check!

So what did I do? Flab shaking! Yep I took myself again to my favorite Nightclub Cardio class and boogied down. I baked 2 dozen yummy red velvet iced with vanilla and decorated with Skull cupcakes for Hubbs-to-be to take to work. Cleaned the house. Got almost packed for our Las Vegas Journey. Ordered up our best ever baby sitter who raced right over and off I went to shake my butt rolls!! Now somehow I have managed to get a little stress fracture in one of the tiny bones in my right foot, I know classic for a bride walking down the aisle in 3 days, so I just didn't bounce too much on that foot. I just pretend that it is nothing LOL! But I shook my bootie and got my rolls a swinging! I Love it!

Shake shake shake, Shake shake shake, shake that pink haired momma fat shake that pink haired momma fat!!

I hope you momma's snagged you some Theta Mom time too this week. I am not going to lie. I will not be reading your posts today because I am in LAS VEGAS about to get married!! But I do promise I will be hunting those time out posts down when I get back and will run off and tattle to Theta mom if you didn't steal some alone time for yourself! heheheeheh!!

Have a great week my friends!! And fabulous Halloween and I cant wait to share when we get back! I will be updating about the wedding via FB and twitter so stay tuned!!

Time out for mom Thursday

It is Thursday again! Confession time! Yep that is right! Time for us momma's to spill our guts about how we so selfishly took 1 whole hour during the last week all for ourselves! I know! I know! 1 whole hour is really pushing it in a 168 hour week; but you know how it is as a mom. You can not even get alone time on the toilet! The babes are invading private poo space all the time! I guess that is only fair they see you take a poo since you clean theirs, Right?
In case you are new to my blog, here is what is going on. The awesome and fabulous, Heather, over at Theta Mom got this fabulous idea rockin and a rollin. She challenged us moms to commit to and take 1 hour during the week that is just for us. No kids. No hubbs-to-be. No mommy business. No toilet cleaning or poop wiping allowed. Just 1 hour of alone Woman time. Then on Thursday we link up with Theta Mom and share our fabulous 1 hour of leisure with each other and the world. It is so amazing to hear the stories from other moms and what they chose to do with their 1 hour of time. It is such a wonderful concept and I am very grateful to Theta Mom for getting this started! As I have stated before, to be the best mom we can be we must remember to keep ourselves sane. This 1 hour is the key to not pooping on our kids each week!

I actually was granted 2 momma hours!! AHHHHHHH! Can you believe it? Hubbs to be and Baby DIVA spent some daddy daughter time together on Saturday morning while this Pink Haired Momma headed out to spend some moola. I went to my favorite thrift store and found some awesome deals for Baby DIVA. Click HERE to read about my fabulous finds.

Then On Tuesday Night, Hubbs-to-be and Baby DIVA enjoyed an evening alone as I headed out to my Nightclub Cardio class. I love this class. The instructors are awesome. The lights are turned off so no one can see my tired old flabby momma body fat flapping like mad as I shake my bootie all over the dance floor. Seriously this has got to be my most favorite dance/exercise class ever. The incorporation of the "fun" attitude you have at a club scene (well you know back when we did the club scene like 12 years ago) and the aerobics, dance moves, stretches and strength training is just fabulous. I could not ask for a better Free mommy hour!! I feel fabulous after this workout. Beat up and abused just like every other day in the life of a mom! The only difference is I am doing it without Baby DIVA on my hip and screaming in my ear!

I had so many people comment and email me expressing a ton of interest in this class after my post last week. I was shocked at the response. So I went and talked with the instructors and I found out they have a short video of the class that I can share with you today! I also found out we can host a "momma night" of Nightclub Cardio. So if you are reading this blog and you are in the Houston, Texas area and you might be interested in participating in the "momma night" of Nightclub cardio, email me or leave me a comment with your contact info ie. you email. I will see how many people we have interested and get us signed up for a "momma night". Now sit back and Enjoy this video! It runs through about 5-6 minutes of what goes on in the class. I am telling you, it is tons of fun! Fabulous!

Time out for mom Theta Mom Thursday

Last week I accepted the challenge set forth by Theta Mom and decided every week from here on out I would steal 1 hour of time that is devoted to just ME!! And I kept my word.

This week Hubbs-to-be watched Baby DIVA while one of my dearest friends and myself took an exercise class. Now you might be thinking WTF? Why are you working out on your one hour of freedom?!? Well this is not your ordinary exercise class. Nope! It is Night Club Cardio . That is right. My friend and I got our rolls a flapping out on the dance floor and sweated it up!

It was so much fun! I haven't had fun exercising like that since I was a size 5 and living it up in the college life style! All the other participants were about our age (early 30's) and this made the whole event quite inviting. The facility is an actual club, during non "club" hours. The lights are turned off. The DJ starts a spinning. The disco ball is a twirling and all us ladies and gents are lead through a 60 minute shake down of our flubber! Seriously, it was so much fun and such a super workout. I am incredibly excited about it. I worked out. Got some good exercise. Fabulous conversation with my friend. And a whole hour devoted to just me!

And guess what?
I am going back next week!! Alone! Hubbs-to-be and Baby DIVA have their special time while I flab shake!!

Thank you Theta Mom for starting the Time out Thursdays for us moms. Sometimes we just need someone to remind us that to be a good mother to our children we also have to take care of ourselves, and that includes our sanity!!!

Before I take off, I just want to remind you that I have my fabulous My Little Pony Giveaway going on right now. It ends next Wednesday. So click HERE and get registered today to win this fabulous giveaway!

Zucchini Bread

Pink Haired Momma made bread from scratch!!!

Zucchini bread that is...

DELICIOUS!!!!!

Hubbs-to-be said it was the "Bizzomb". I rock! What can I say!

So how did I take this...

And turn it into this delicious treat?

Well I started out with the gigantic zucchini that I found this week at the farmers market. I jumped online to one of my favorite sites for recipes, Allrecipes, and found a fabulous sounding recipe for Zucchini Bread. Then I just followed some instructions and poof I cooked BREAD FROM SCRATCH!!!!!

So what do you need?

1 1/2 cups shredded zucchini
3/4 cup white sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons lemon zest

***NOTE*** I eliminated the lemon zest because I didn't have any. And it is still super yummy!

And how do you put it all together?
Turn the oven on and set to 325 degrees F

Grease an 8x4 inch loaf pan.

In a bowl, beat together the zucchini, sugar, egg, and oil.

In a separate bowl, mix up the flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder and cinnamon (and lemon zest if you use it). I then dumped the wet stuff and the dry stuff into my KitchenAid Mixer
and turned it to the "stir" option. When it is well blended pour the batter into the baking pan.
Bake 45 minutes in the oven, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool and enjoy!!

Seriously this is so fabulously yummy! Hubbs-to-be had to remove himself from the kitchen area to keep from eating every last crumb!!

Motorcycle diet

Hubbs-to-be informed me that he is officially on a diet.

I thought Great! This is wonderful! I have been trying for some time now to convert our lifestyle to not only a greener more frugal way of life (Boas and Tiaras and Pink Diamonds are included in this new lifestyle of course), but I have also been striving to make our lives healthier. We are learning how to grow our own fresh fruits and vegetables (yes the carrots were not much success this year, but Hey I grew a bite of edible food from a seed. Baby Steps!). We recycle more. We compost. I work like a mad woman to save money in all areas of our life from groceries and coupons to making everything ourselves. It is a new lifestyle but a welcomed and enjoyable one.

So when Hubbs-to-be enlightened me to his new commitments I was incredibly thrilled. He then proceeded to tell me the dirty details and the rules and regulations of his diet plan.

Here they are:
Hubbs-to-be loses 40 pounds he buys a Motorcycle.

Seriously?!?!
Gotta love a man's mind!
Here is my Pink Haired Momma thoughts on this new diet reward!
Pink Momma could ride second fiddle in this sidecar!!

Baby DIVA digs this one!
Oh Hell Pink Haired Momma will drop 40 and get one too!!!
