Elves at IKEA

The "Elves" of Christmas, AKA Grandma and Pink Haired Momma, have been out and about conquering all the after Christmas sales and have delivered, on schedule, some fabulousness to Baby DIVA. As well as starting the stockpile for birthday gifts throughout the year and Christmas 2010! Yep I am that good!

First stop: IKEA. Baby DIVA scored a $1 ice cream and even shared a little with mom, while the Elves scored a pink potty chair, new curtains for the playroom, STORAGE for the playroom because we all know those "Grandma Santa's" can get a tad carried away, and super awesome new bibs that even Baby DIVA can not remove! You see the last item here, bibs, are a fabulous find. Baby DIVA became quiet skilled at the removal of bibs oh about 2 days after we introduced solids. This left us with two options: eating naked, our favorite option, or ruining an outfit, our not so favorite option. Now we have these fab plastic shirt style bibs with food drop pockets. They fasten around the neck and Baby DIVA thinks she is super stylin', chills out in her high chair and doesn't have to eat NAKED!!!! LOVE IT!!!

The AWESOME food pocket!

Shirt Style Bib for Baby DIVA: Godsend!!

Baby DIVA was calmly introduced to her cute little Pink Potty. I was thinking several months of introducing would possibly result in a potty trained child come late summerish. Well with a splash of Elf magic dust Baby DIVA took a poopie in her potty during her initial introduction!!! Hallelujah!! Coincidence? Most likely! Will I brag like hell the next few days that my 13 month old is using her potty?!? You bet your ass! I have already called all my friends and family and told them all in a matter of fact I am the best momma voice ever, that Baby DIVA is using her potty!! Now what I don't share is we haven't used it since the initial poopie. A little side note I think I will keep to myself, oh and you of course!

The Famous Baby DIVA poopie potty!! At only 13 months! My child is AMAZING!!

I have been really working on Baby DIVA's playroom/bedroom. She really has so many entertaining devices, ie too many toys, but it is all good. I have thrown a twin mattress on the floor and covered it with an adorable duvet. I am hoping to teach Baby DIVA to nap on this mattress. Then maybe a toddler bed will grown around this fabulous mattress. Until the bed evolves, I wont have to worry about a tumble from Baby DIVA since the mattress rests nicely on her level. New curtains were hung in a cutesy yet fun print over the windows. A new storage system was put in place for little Baby DIVA. Keeps the clutter in place for mom but is just the right size for Baby DIVA to pull out her toys and destroy her clean playroom, in less than 20 seconds. News Years resolution number one for Baby DIVA: Learn to put toys away when done playing. I will keep you posted on how well that goes! LOL I also found a diamond in the rough wall shelf for 2 bucks at the our favorite thrift mart. I am in the process of painting it up all fabulous for Baby DIVA's wall and will gladly entertain your eyes with my homemade shelf eye candy up on its completion!

The new IKEA curtains that are fun, cutesy and even match my current wall colors but provide for more decorating style!

IKEA storage solutions and the fun new Duvet that we hope Baby DIVA will nap on!

This storage container is awesome. It is cheap, lightweight, Easy to build ( I did it ALL by myself with no tantrum throwing), and Baby DIVA friendly. I am thinking I will be giving these to future mommies at their showers from now on!
I am hoping that the cuteness of Baby DIVA's playroom/bedroom with intrigue her little mind and she will begin to enjoy playing and sleeping in her special place. With our house going on the market later this month, we need to remove the toy obstacle course from the house, as much fun as it is to hop and jump over Lego's and Ugly dolls, I am positive potential buyers would not be impressed.

Between Elf hunts, magic dust and crafty Pink Haired Momma, our house in turning into a almost ready to go to market picturesque setting with a closet hiding the beginnings of a stockpile of reduced price awesome gifts for all our favorite folks throughout the year! Go us!
*See I am getting wise ( but still fabulously fun and PINK) with my old age, of 24 hours at 31!*

Freshdeals Rock

I love shopping. But I do not love over spending. I enjoy treating my regular shopping trips like a game. The game being one in which I find the item I am on the hunt for at the best possible price. Therefore I get exactly what I want for rock bottom prices. I scour the Internet (most of my shopping is in fact done online) for the best deals and steals.

Recently, I was introduced to a fabulous website called Freshdeals. I took a little time to play around on Freshdeals and in no time I was hooked. This fabulous website offers not only an advanced search over a multitude of stores when I am searching a specific item; it also lists each item at each store out for me and displays the price in an easy to view manner. Therefore I am able to get a snapshot view of the item I want to purchase and at a quick glance can see which store has it listed at the absolute best price. I am so thrilled to pieces with this feature. I did a search for "cake cutter" and Freshdeals gave me 7 pages of results to look through. 7 whole pages of stores that were offering cake cutters! It was fabulous. I was able to glance at the price and a picture of the item before even having to traipse through each individual store that offered a cake cutter. Quickly I went from having tons of choices, to one choice then click and Voila!!!! I ordered my cake cutter. How awesome is that!

And that is not all this wonderful site has to offer. Oh No! It gets even better! I have been doing a ton of shopping lately in regards to wedding items and all that surrounds such a glorious event. Being a first time bride, sometimes I feel a bit overwhelmed and have no idea how to even go about choosing a cake cutter or toasting flute, let alone a garter or grooms gift. Luckily for me, Freshdeals offers a wonderful question and answer forum. I am able to ask a question about any product and get real time answers from merchants as well as other individuals with first hand knowledge. This feature is a godsend for a Bride to be who is planning her wedding. And it doesn't just stop with weddings. I was able to use this site also to help me pick out and purchase some items for Baby DIVA's upcoming first birthday party!! Freshdeals has an incredible amount to offer and has really helped me get products and items I am in need of for the price I want to pay!

I have added Freshdeals to my repertoire of favorite places and fully intend on using it for all my future shopping needs. Check it out and see how it can work magic for you too!!

Market Day

Can I just say how much I love the farmers market! But can I also say how exhausting it is to go out in the excruciating heat and hit the market every Wednesday! My goodness. Yesterday was market day. My mom, Baby DIVA and myself hit up the local grocery stores, drug stores and farmers market. We are coupon freaks and hit the sales. We are very active participants in the grocery game style of shopping. So for us, a grocery day involves many different stores and stops and coupons and HEAT!! Lots and Lots of HEAT right now!! UGH. The rewards are plenty though. We stock 5 households full of food and necessities for less than I used to spend on just us. It takes some work but man I love it! And so does the rest of my family! They reap the rewards of my mom and I getting coupon happy!

So back to our farmers market run. Besides the HEAT and this Pink Haired Momma dripping pink sweat all over town, we found some fabulous fresh fruits and vegetables this week. The fruits were looking sweet and delicious and the vegetables were crisp and clean. We walked away with the usual of potatoes, onion, garlic, lettuce, and tomatoes. This week however we threw in some white eggplant, purple eggplant, some humongous zucchini, jimaca, cactus, hibiscus flowers for tea, and beets! Totally delicious. I can not wait to get cooking on some of these yummy and healthy fresh foods.

Here is a snapshot of this weeks fabulousness from the farmers market!! YUM YUM
White Eggplant!
I have never seen white eggplant before nor have I ever cooked with it. Stay tuned this week as I embark on my first cooking experience with this crazy little food!!
And some cactus for the Hubbs-to-be! He loves this stuff. And when we have it in the house HE COOKS breakfast.
***not to self***I must learn how to grow and harvest this so that I never have to cook breakfast again!!

Scent-tabulous

Have you ever noticed how a Scent can really set the tone of your day? A disgusting scent sends you through a terrible day while a fabulous or rather scent-tabulous scent defines a terrific day? Smells awaken emotions in us just like actions do. We all like to lead happy fun filled days so why not surround ourselves with a scent-tabulous aroma?!

If you happen across a yucky smell first thing in the morning it can make your tummy turn which results in a bad morning followed by an even worse day. An example of such a smell is when your hubbs-to-be forgets to take the trash out again and it really stinks when you enter the kitchen on your morning hunt for the giant cup of coffee. Something about yesterday's diapers before I have my morning cup of joe just really sets a bad tone for the day.

Now you can also have the opposite response with a fabulous Scent. Like when you awake on a Sunday morning to find baby DIVA playing in her orange corvette while Hubbs-to-be is slaving away over the stove and the delicious smell of fresh vegetables sauteed inside a freshly cooked omelet permeates the air and envelopes all your senses in dance of aromatic pleasure.

I do not know about you but I prefer the second scenario. I would rather smell some delicious Scents to help keep my mood uplifted than some stinky diaper smells that can just kill a mood instantly. And guess what? I have found a way!! And it is totally Scent-tabulous!!!!

My favorite PERFUME JaDore!!

I absolutely LOVE with a passion this perfume. It is my all time favorite. I have been adorning my body with this stuff for years. And NO it does not smell like breakfast frying away on a Sunday morning. although I do love that smell too, A lot!! The smell is somewhat floral but is incredibly elegant. Anytime I smell it my mood changes instantly and I become a happy Pink Haired Momma. I have people on the street stop me sometimes when I have adorned the delicious perfume on, and ask what scent it is that I am wearing because the hidden scents of orchids and violets chase my every move and entice their noses. The smells of Jadore is not an overwhelming scent either. It is light and airy and causes just a slight upturn of the head when you catch the soft trail of amazing smell drift past your olfactory senses. It is quite remarkable to have such a flavorful aromatic experience without being overwhelmed to the point of gagging. And also I just can not help loving this AWESOME bottle design!!! Funky, elegant, and fabulous!!

After finding out that I was going to have a child, I immediately began reserving all my fundage for "baby" things. No more money was wasted on items for me, Pink Haired Momma. I found myself reserving my daily spritz of my Jadore for "special occasions" because it would last longer that way. Well I have finally figured out that EVERY DAY is a "special occasion". Every Day is another day I get with my beautiful child. And every day is another day I NEED to be in a good mood.

Lucky for me I happened across this great scent site that has MY Jadore listed at a great price. Now I no longer have to use my favorite scent sparingly because I can get another bottle shipped right to me at a great price. You should check this site out too. They might have your favorite smell and soon you can be in a happy mood all day every day too!!

Baby DIVA Scores...Denim

We visited out fabulous and fun favorite thrift store yesterday and picked up some awesome deals. Baby DIVA totally scored. She received 3 new pairs of jeans, 2 new denim skirts, 10 pairs of pants, 2 new twirlyish skirts, and two bags of toys all for the bargain of $22!!!

Now here is the really cool part. I pink hair momma'd my way through my fabulous thrift shop about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I came across these really super dog cute pair of jeans from the children's place. A quick scan of the pants revealed they were in perfect condition. The only flaw...Baby DIVA would not be able to wear them for another year...or so. Anyway they were marked for 8 bucks and I decided if I got them that they would probably end up in the closet, forgotten, lost little souls of denim, and never be worn by Baby DIVA. Back on the shelf they went. I thought about them many times since we went our separate ways. Told the Hubbs-to-be about them in fact. Regretted my decision. Well imagine the jump for joy yippee that belted from this Pink Haired Momma's soul when I found those same jeans today hidden in Baby DIVA's section and marked down to 2 BUCKS!!! $2 I tell you!! I totally snagged them! Love em. I don't care if she never wears them! They are fabulous and I will frame them because I conquered fate! The Jeans are ours for 2 BUCKS!!!

So you wanna see the jeans that caused all this excitement????? Here is a quick snapshot of Baby DIVA's steals in the denim category!

Can you guess which pair it is that just drove me to such insanity that I yelped HOORAY in the thrifty store?
