SHE LAUGHED!!!!!!

Amelia laughed out loud...a real giggle laugh...for the first time this weekend!! On saturday we went out to the ranch to visit grandma and grandpa. While teasing her with a sock in the face Daddy got her to laugh her first OFFICIAL laugh!! It was so cute. And mom, dad, and grandma got to hear it all together!!! I got the camera out and was able to catch the end of her first laugh on video. Hopefully i will get that uploaded here very soon!!!

Spring is Near!!!

Just a few pictures from today's morning photoshoot!!

She is so cute!! I just want to hug and smooch her all day long...and I do!!!

I am super proud of myself. I have grown a bunch of flowers and vegetables from seeds!! REALLY!!! i took the little seeds and planted the min the little dirt pods and a few weeks later i had plants!! Woohoo I really do have superpowers to grow thing!!!

Everything has sprouted and is almost ready to go in the ground. The beds are cleaned out and ready for these little babies to be planted so they can start producing loads of food and floral beauty. I Built my compost bin this morning and I hope to get all my "compost" supplies i have been collecting in it tomorrow!! This weekend I will also be constructing the rain barrel catcher!

Trying my hand with the green thumb for several reasons. Hoping to save money and wanting to grow healthier (know where they come from) foods for my family. Amelia also will only be eating fresh prepared food (prepped by me YES I know I am nuts)once she starts on solid foods; so I am hoping these come from my garden and not whole foods grocery shelves!

And of course I have some pictures to share of this accomplishment!!!

The Bin !!! My beds are ready!!! My baby seeds are growing!!!

BABY and WEDDING NEWS!!!

She is so loving the bumbo these days!!!

Amelia's first Crawfish boil!!!

Wow has my life changed over the last year!! This time last year I was not pregnant (yet), was not a mother, was not officially engaged, I was just chilling out enjoying life and playing as much as I could. Well then I got the big PLUS and my whole world changed. So here we are one year later. I have the most beautiful 3 month old baby daughter that has ever graced this earth. I have a wonderful man in my world who is not only the father of my excellent child but has acceptable the privilege of being my husband to be!! (I still think he might need to have his head checked). Now instead of having cocktails until 2 or 3 am and then sleeping until noon, I now wake up at 2 or 3 am to feed the baby a bottle after having been asleep since 8pm. This is then followed by a grocery trip, laundry completion, dinner preparation, house speed cleaned, and a couple miles walk and play time at the park all completed by noon each day.

How is that we as women go from lounging about in life to being super moms in almost an instant? Now i will be the first to tell you that the first few months were rough. I felt like nothing was done and i felt like i was spinning out of control. Now out of no where I have grown my super cape and became super mom. So bizarre!!

Ok so now on top of all the other changes that have occurred in my life the last year now I must plan a wedding...lets add that task to the daily super mom list!!! I used to imagine my wedding as the "event of the century". I wanted full theatrics and hundreds of people and tons of flowers basically Princess Dianna style...the works. Well then I had a baby shower and I birthed a child. My thoughts and wishes on this event have greatly changed. Let me explain...
First of all i do love being the center of attention...however on my terms center of attention. I don't like the world to stop and look at me. Totally freaks me out. Case in point. The BABY SHOWER. I arrived at my best buds house the afternoon of my shower. I slowly opened the door to her home and entered thinking nothing of it. Oh my lordy dordy to my shock and amazement there were about 30 people standing there all lined up and staring me down. So there i waddled through the crows horrified that everyone was looking at me. My stomach dropped and i felt nauseous. Right then and there i decided that a huge princess wedding may not be something i want to do. My husband to be has about 1000 pairs of eyes in his family that will be staring me down. I think i might throw up just thinking about it. So to steal a line from the infamous Sex and the city Character Carrie " I might be missing the bride gene" in this area. I want a smaller wedding followed by a causal large reception. Make sense? In a casual reception i can walk to the guests an converse instead of having their eyes bore through me as i walk the last single walk of my life!!

So then let me move on the to the other aspect of the wedding that I might be lacking the bride gene in. I went wedding dress shopping on Monday. When i walked into the bridal store all i could see was an overwhelming sea of white fabric. I swear my heart almost jumped up into my throat. How am i supposed to filter through the plastic bags filled with hideous white fabric that i am to get all weepy about trying on. Honestly i don't really care. I love watching the platinum wedding shows and I watch all these brides trying on the gowns with their friends and family all beside them cheering them on. Blah yuck barf for me!!! I told the sales lady to just bring me some big poof skirt dresses that come in red or black. She brought me one that came in ruby red. It was gorgeous. I really loved it. However i feel so strange standing up on the little block trying on my white wedding gown with my baby daughter hanging out in her stroller watching me. A little surreal there!! So anyway i got over the fright of the wedding dress and tried on a few. The poof skirts are what i seem to like. However i then made my way to some other off the beaten path bridal store and found a gown I absolutely fell in love with. Let me tell you how much i love this gown. I have had 3 exercising sessions since returning from trying on this gown!! And it was Monday afternoon and i haven't exercised today yet!! LOL It is amazing. If i can lose some more baby weight between now and Halloween AKA my wedding day then I have found the gown. It is black and stunning. Here let me show you...

Totally different than the big poof skirts that i gravitate too...but man i just love this gown!!! It is so different and perfect for my Halloween Las Vegas ball!!!! Well Amelia is starting to stir. I must go now!!

Thoughts on the general public

I am so astonished sometimes at how the general public acts. I currently work from home in the billing department/customer service for a cable provider. I receive calls daily from individuals who are in total shock that they have to pay their bill. They don't understand that if you get the largest cable package known to man and you buy pay per view movies and events on a daily basis that it is not unheard of to have a several hundred dollar cable bill monthly. These people call in telling me how they didn't buy these movies that the cable box is just charging them for no reason, or that we didn't call or email them to tell/remind them their bill was due for the last 3 months (never mind that they receive a bill in the mail and notification and phone calls when they are 30 and 60 days past due) and now their service is turned off and how are we going to compensate THEM because we didn't remind them! Or then i get calls from people who are angry with the government for some reason and don't want to pay the government taxes. I literally had a customer get so angry at me because she pays about $25 a month for full cable service ( yes she is on a special ) and she had a .07 cent charge for FCC fees. She honestly took time out of her day to call me and ask me to please adjust her account by removing this charge because "she doesn't like it". SERIOUSLY!!!!! I just am in shock on a daily basis at the majority of the requests I receive. I know we are All trying to save a buck but these requests are ridiculous. I guess i was just raised differently but I would never call the cable company screaming about something that was my fault or demanding them to compensate me because "i don't like it".
It just astonishes me and cracks me up. It actually keeps me going each day. I wonder what the next call will bring and how quickly can I get this customer to be happy with services they themselves pick out and request and choose to pay for!!!

Just my thoughts for today :)

Oh wedding dress oh wedding dress!!!!

http://18thcenturycorsets.smugmug.com/gallery/41697/2/1464018/Large

What do you think about the three above dresses. These three are on the top of my list right now (two pics and one is a link). Let me know your thoughts!!!

Amelia learned to make cookies this morning. She is a little fussy today so I just wanted to post a few pictures for your viewing pleasure...Seriously this is the most beautiful kid i have ever seen...no bias or anything!!! LOL

not loving valentine's day!!

After she got her valentine's present!!!

She is getting so big!

WE ARE ALIVE.... I THINK

This smile is to die for!!!

I just cant get enough of this beautiful face!!!!
Well it has been over a month since my last post. I am so sorry. This last month has been very rough. Amelia cried 23 3/4 hours a day. We couldn't find formula that worked for her little tummy. When she wasn't crying all she wanted was to be held. Wow nothing like a good ole month with no sleep to make you feel like a true zombified woman!

This is one of the greatest inventions known to man...boppy pillow resting the babe inside of the baby gym...Hallelujah!!!!!

I officially became a true work from home stay at home mom. I absolutely love it. I get to hang out with the baby all day then work at night. I think this is really going to work out the best scenario for our little family. Honestly after this last month i have no idea what i would have done had i been going to a job away from home. Having the 5 second commute and not necessarily having to be freshly showered to work has been a saving grace for me this last month. I have a new found respect for the full time working mother (outside of the home) as well as the stay at home mom. I am now kind of doing both so it was quite a transition. I am getting a grip on it and getting Amelia feeling better so every thing is back on the upswing again.

Milk Drunk
So anyway, now we have a wonderful lactose free formula that Amelia devours any chance she gets. Her tummy is doing much better...her poop is of normal color and consistency...we are putting on lots of weight!!! Which i think in my absence here i did not even get to post about her two month check up and her first round of shots (mommy is recovering nicely thanks). she only weighed 10 pounds at her 2 month checkup but is healthy. We are starting to develop a schedule and this has allowed mommy to have some time to herself. So here I am back at doing one of the things i love to do and that is write and post here to all my friends and family.

So at the ripe age of 13 weeks today 02-24-2009 Amelia has made the following Grand accomplishments:

1. thrown up in mommies mouth

2. pooped all over herself and got it her and mommy's hair

3. peed on her doctor

4. did a somersault out of daddy's arms and on to the couch causing mommy to have cardiac arrest!!!

LOL no really...

1. Amelia can hold her head up completely on her own now

2. She is attempting to roll over

3. She can bear weight on her chubby little legs

4. She has discovered her tongue and loves to see and make spit bubbles

5. She smiles all the time NOW (thanks to lactose free)

6. And the beginning sounds of a laugh are quickly developing

I am getting really excited about the bluebonnets blooming here in the next month or so. The baby dress that i wore for my first professional pics will be worn by Miss Amelia on her first trip to the bluebonnets for her pictures!!! I am so excited. She is the cutest thing ever. I can not get enough of her. Even when we were at our worst this last month and she had screamed and screamed and screamed and i had no sleep I could just look at her sweet face and just melt. I love my daughter so much and will gladly never sleep again if it keeps her healthy and happy!!!!

On another note Alberto and I have also been wedding planning. Yes I know you are probably thinking that I am on crack and trying to overload and kill myself. And you are right I am! So we picked a Venue!!! The Venetian in LAS VEGAS BABY!!!! Woohooo!!! We are going to dress in masquerade ball attire and get married on our favorite holiday... Halloween!!! All our friends and family are of course invited to come and share in this adventure, However we understand if many can not attend. So we are having a huge casual BBQ party out at my parents ranch the following Saturday. I am so excited!! I think i found gown. It is red velvet!! I will keep everyone updated on this as soon as i get some time to go try it on!!!So Woohooo I am going to be a BRIDE finally and not a bridesmaid...oh wait I am a bridesmaid one more time for my BFF this MAY!!! LOL

Well that is about it for now...Amelia is waking up...will continue later!!!!!!!!

two month check up

I found this saved as a draft...wanted to go ahead an post it out there eve nthough it is like over a month old!!! hahahah

Amelia had her TWO MONTH checkup this week. I can not believe she is two months old all ready. She weighed in at a whopping 10 pounds even and is 22 inches long. She is tiny but is growing great!!! We changed her formula and her tummy seems to be getting better. The smell of sour milk is starting to subside some as the spit ups are becoming fewer and fewer by the day. She is the most beautiful baby in the whole world. She is holding her head up great and is beginning to smile at us in response to our actions!!!

I went live at my at home job. It is kind of fun working in customer service. I get angry customers calling me all the time and it is like a little game to see how long it takes me to get them to calm down. So far in the few days i have been live i have taken 50 calls and only 1 of those i could not get a laugh out of!!! Not bad!!!

Sour Milk

Motherhood...the constant smell of sour milk permeating everywhere you go. But somehow you can still keep on trucking and loving on the babe oblivious to the stench for days at a time. Then the smell hits you for real and oh my...

So Yep Amelia has some colic issues. We stopped sleeping, We started throwing up ALOT. We stopped pooping regularly. We had tremendous painful gas. And oh the crying...

I felt like an idiot when I did in fact call the pediatrician twice and asked the "new mommy" questions of what the hell do iIdo for this screaming child. I tried it all. Changed the diapey...feed her repeatedly...bathed her...read to her..took her for a walk...a drive..i danced and sang like a loon in front of her thinking she would laugh...ya whatever. I tried to master the moby wrap..see pic! and Amelia's facce to see how well that worked out! nothing works!!!!!!

Luckily the nurses at my peds office are so sweet. They just quietly walk you through what to do in that sweet thick melt like butter delicious mommy i have been there voice and then roar in laughter at you when you hang up the phone. I don't care!! Do those voices of melted butter just develop over time? I want one and then someday I can volunteer for that phone line in the future just so I too can roar with laughter at how dumb new mommies are!!!

I bragged and bragged those first 6 weeks about how wonderful my newborn was and how she slept through the night and yada yada yada. So the last 2 weeks have been just hell. All those sneers i received from friends have found their way into my lifestyle and have sneered my life up!!! She is 8 weeks old and a cranky little woman!! We had to change her formula. She seems to be taking to this one. Her gas and fussiness is getting better. She slept for 12 hours last night so I really think her tummy is getting better. Maybe soon I can resume my bragging about how wonderful my little baby is where sleep and eating issues are concerned.

But we are still having a great week. We went out in our jogger stroller and mapped out a route for mom and baby to get some exercise. We found out the local library has infant story time on Tuesday's. We watched a new president be sworn in to office and now that I no longer work for cetero we get to play all day long...well once colic goes away we will play all day!!!LOL

Tired and being cooped up in the house for so long we took Amelia to the mall today and wandered around for hours. I hit up every single baby, child, motherish store i could find. I got some great outfits for Amelia for now and next winter for $3 each. Thanks Old Navy and The Children's Place!!! Daddy hit up all the gamer stores. Amelia snoozed in her stroller...except for the screech she alerted us with when her diaper was about to explode of green nastiness. I don't know which is worse though her diapers or public diaper changing areas. UGH!!

So while at the mall daddy and I encountered some massage therapists that had their massage chairs set up. 30 minutes and $24 later we both had 15 minutes each of back, neck and arm massage. What a wonderful idea this is!!! Man these people must seriously just watch for parents to walk by with a stroller carrying a little tiny offspring and attack them. It is like dangling meat in front of a lion!! New parents who are sleep deprived will jump at any opportunity to catch even just 15 minutes of relaxation. So Yep we fell for their little gimmick and It was by far the greatest 15 minutes of the day...that was until we found the photo booth!!!

Yep we climbed in there and took pics with Amelia. She was not impressed at all. We laughed our butts off!! You know it cracks me up. When you are a teenager and super cool hanging out at the mall those photo booths are the best. You sneak in there with your teenage boyfriend and take pics to capture your love and silliness. Then you grow up some more and pass the booths for several years without thinking twice about the memory they provide. Then you give birth and you are taken back to nostalgia period and want to capture the love and silliness again. Ain't life grand!!!

To celebrate our greatness and triumph at the mall and photo booth excursion we dined at the Rainforest Cafe. Very cool atmosphere. We are looking forward to taking Amelia there again when she is much bigger.

In other news I am one week down on my resignation working period and one week down training for my at home job. I am excited about both. Looking very forward to losing the day job. Daddy is picking his photography hobby up again. He was on hiatus for quite some time but it seems as though his passion for photography is returning. In fact as we speak he is doing a photo shoot with a sleeping Amelia Grace!! And Yes you heard that right...she is sleeping!!! Woohoo!!!!

So now I will leave you with this video. All I will say is New House. Every man and woman's dream!!!

Getting back in the groove

So I am back to work for my 2 week stint. I am so not loving it. Amelia has decided to choose this week to be a typical newborn. She is no longer sleeping at night. So on top of starting my job again I am no longer sleeping and at night and before I don't sleep I spend 6 hours training at home for my future at home job!!! UGH!!! Trying to kill myself I think. 1 full time job for 2 weeks, 1 part time job training every day, care for a newborn and no sleep. YEA for cases of Red Bull!!!!!!
Oh-well Amelia still is the cutest baby in the entire world!! I love her so much. Just wish she would keep those peepers closed at night!!!!

Roaring into 2009!!!!!!

Well I am officially 30!! New Years Day aka my 30th birthday came and went. I cried quite a few times throughout the day. I was in a really bad mood and couldn't shake it. Poor Alberto just kind of hid in whatever room I wasn't in. Everything just exemplified the fact that i was "old" that day. My mom gave me a Wii Fit which I really really wanted and I am so excited about but when she gave it to me on my 30th birthday I just felt FAT and old. Then i discovered that Amelia has a Little heat rash on her neck so of course it was because I was old and stupid. So eventually I pulled myself out of the self pity mode and Alberto and I went to target to spend some money. I was so excited to find tons of shirts and sweaters and little dresses on sale for $1-$3 each for Amelia for next year. All 12 month size. Well i snuck a few in for now too!!! This really brightened my spirits because only a seasoned OLD shopper could find these great deals!! LOL!!!

New Years Eve was fun. We had family and friends over. We live outside the city limits so we are able to pop fireworks right outside. Most of our family lives within the limits of the city so this is too cool for everyone. So this is how it went. The kids thought the fireworks were pretty but too loud and so they got scared and came back inside. The women watched for a while and enjoyed the fireworks but it was chilly outside. So the women ended up inside having hot chocolate and enjoying the heater. The men however spent hours upon hours (yes they had tons of fireworks and several trips to the firework stand) upon hours setting off these fireworks. And the neighbors began to venture out and become spectators to the men in my life and their firework extravaganza. It was hilarious. The guys are already planning the firework show for July 4th!! LOL The pics I have included are the Debris on the street. My pics of the actual fireworks are not very good.

I start my work from home job training this Monday Jan 5. I am excited and nervous about the whole deal. I really want this at home job to work out. It will really work great for our family if it all falls in to place. I start back to my current job on Tuesday jan 6. Last week I met with my boss and told him that I would not be coming back. He is such a super boss. He told me that was wonderful and the best gift I could give my child is to stay home with her. He also asked me to write my official resignation as open ended in case I would like to come back to work at some point. So on Tuesday I start back part time for two weeks. I have to go back and get a certain amount of hours in order to keep the benefits i received during maternity leave. So for about 2 weeks i will work my current job and my at home job and take care of an infant. Woohoo I should be really friendly!!!

Fabulous Weekend

Amelia had a very exciting last few days. On Saturday mommy and daddy took Amelia out to the family ranch. She got to hang out with her grandma and grandpa her uncle and she finally met her aunt shara. This is mommy's mom and her maternal side of the family. She was so excited that she slept most of the day!!! And she took a bath in the big bathtub. She splashed her feet and seemed to really enjoy it. Mommy ignored the duck and set the water to a nice temperature and Amelia really liked it!!!

Then on Sunday baby girl got to meet another grandpa and grandma. This is mommy's dad and step mom. She was alert when meeting her family and enjoyed getting to know them. She has not met her Uncles on this side of the family but is looking forward to meeting them in the near future.

Then today on Monday Amelia went with mommy to have lunch with mommy's boss and department co-workers. Then after lunch Amelia went to mommy's job and saw her friends at work. Luckily Amelia is so dang cute and was able to distract everyone when mommy announced she would not be coming back to work.

See ya next year Santa...

Well Christmas 2008 has come and gone. My unexpected child celebrated her first Christmas. Wild!!! This year she enjoyed time with her paternal side of the family. My mom was still running a fever and so Amelia has not had Christmas yet with her maternal side of the family. But it is all amazing. In looking at some of the pictures I am awe struck that this is MY daughter that I am holding on Christmas with My future husband and baby's father. Amazing!! I love it!! I cant wait for all the Christmas's to come!!!
Now on another note, with Christmas behind us I now must announce and focus on another fact of life. I AM TURNING 30 IN 6 DAYS!!!! NEW YEARS DAY 2009 I WILL BE AN OLD 30 YEAR OLD MOMMIE!!! Wow now I tell you last year when I was toasting 2008 at midnight with Alberto, I never in a million years imagined that when toasting of 2009 commenced I would be holding my beautiful daughter. What a difference one year makes. And HELLO MY THIRTIES!!!!!!!!! Dirty thirty Dirty thirty!!! Woohooo Only now dirty in the sense of dirty diapers!!!

Happy "Tropical" Christmas

I want to wish everyone a wonderful holiday! Maerry Christmas! Happy Hanukah! Happy Kwanza! Happy everything that you celebrate!!!!

Woohoo!!!

It is Christmas Eve today!!! And it is freaking hot here in Texas. Sure wish we would cool down some for Christmas so we could light the fire for christmas eve. You know so Santa can get his Butt birned. HAHAHA

And it looks like both mom and mother in law have been fever free and are feeling much better. We can visit with the baby. I have the lysol and purell in the diaper bag so I am fully armed and ready to battle the germs!! I will limit the grandmas contact with Baby Amelia but at least she can be with them for her first ever Christmas!! Yipppeeee!!!!

And of course I a mstill paparazzi momma. I must have put her in 10 different Christmas outfits this morning so she could model and get pics. And the outfit that she is wearing to the grandparents has not even been photographed on her yet!! Woohoo more paparrazzi time for later!! So i have added a few shots from her photo shoot thie morning!!!! Oh yes there is one shot from last night that is Amelia wit ha pink puppy. Amelia's aunt Love came by and brought her a Christmas present last night. She seemed to like it!!!!

Happy 4 week birthday Amelia!!!!

One month ago today I gave birth to my beautiful daughter. I still feel like it is surreal. I love looking at her and watching every move and sound she makes. Every crinkle in her brow, rumple of her nose, twitch of her leg. Every grunt or sneeze or cry or rather wail i cherish. I love her so much. Being a mother is something that you really can not describe to anyone else. The feelings i have for my child are indescribable. I find that the only people who understand are those who have experienced this miracle for themselves! I find myself still sometimes thinking it is not real. But then she takes a pooh and I know it is real!! LOL

So tomorrow is her first ever Christmas eve. She was estimated to be due on Christmas day so the next 2 days are really special. She is officially "full term" now but already a month old!! Woohoo Amelia!!! I am still holding out hope that both my mom and MIL will begin to feel better and baby girl Amelia can see her grandmothers for Christmas. Her first Christmas that is!!!! I have her little outfit ready to go and can not wait to get all paparazzi on her during the Christmas festivities!!!
I really enjoy spending the days with her. Daddy is back at work and we have mommy and baby time all day. I then find myself a little jealous at night when he comes home and takes her for the evening. But I also feel thankful that he wants to spend so much time with her. Then I feel guilty for being glad to have some "me" time. So to compensate I stare at her while she is in daddy's arms!!! Then when she makes a noise or something I tell Alberto "You want me to take her?" He usually scowls at me and says "no Its my turn you have her all day" I am such a big dork!!!! And we are so your cliche first time parents!!!

Christmas baby

As my original due date of Christmas day fast approaches I can not help but act like a crazy paparazzi mommy and constantly snap pics of this gorgeous baby in various Christmas set ups. I am obsessed with capturing the cute face of this child and preserving the images forever. It also looks as though Amelia's first Christmas will be spent alone with mommy and daddy. Both my mother and my mother in law to be have the flu. We cant take the baby to either family for the holiday because we do not want her to catch the flu from either grandmother. Kind of sucks!!! Here are a few xmassy pics from this morning before our mommy and baby bath!!!
